Jasmin’s Two Homes – set

Change is not always easy. It can feel upsetting and stressful, but it often gives you a new perspective on life. Will the characters in the films overcome the challenges ahead of them?

Jasmin is moving to Somaliland, her dad's home country located in Africa, even though she has lived in Finland her whole life. Pippa has fewer and fewer places in her town to freely ride her skateboard – people who are unhappy with the skateboarders clutter the pavements and stairs with railings. Julie misses her dad following her parents' divorce, and the protagonists of Beyond Our Stars discuss the passing of loved ones. In the films, children learn to deal with the challenges that come their way and find that something good may come out of every change.

Did you know that…

the first skateboards were invented by surfers who wanted to train even when there were no waves on the ocean? Because of this, the sport was originally called “pavement surfing”.
