Festival

The most interesting animations, live action films, and documentaries from all over the world, as well as inspiring meetings with filmmakers and young actors that broaden the horizons of conversations about movies, creative workshops, and most of all – a ton of good fun for the young audiences. That is what the Young Horizons IFF is all about.
This is exactly what the International Film Festival Young Horizons is all about. This year, the festival will be held for the twelfth time in 20 cities all over Poland (main locations being in Warsaw and in Wrocław) from 26 September to 5 October 2025. Shortly after the stationary edition will come to an end, we will invite our viewers to an online edition in which selected titles will be available on the festival platform.
We invite both the youngest viewers (ages three and up) with their accompanying adults, as well as teenage viewers to join us in shared film experience. The programme will traditionally include over a dozen film sections – the same ones to which we invite you to every year, as well as several new proposals. We will invite you to not only the latest premieres but also to numerous accompanying events – discussions and meetings with creators or creative workshops taking place in cinema spaces.
As part of the Main Competition, the most interesting productions will be judged by both the jury and the festival audience. The jurors will also give their opinions on the titles in the Film Discoveries Competition and the Documentary Competition.
As always, the festival will be accompanied by MediaLab – a unique, interactive space for new technology, where you can create your own animations, experience the magic of green screen, create your own special effects, and even become the main character of a movie thanks to virtual reality!

For the past 9 years, the international co-production forum Young Horizons Industry has been a part of the festival. Traditionally, over 300 representatives of the film industry visit Warsaw to exchange knowledge, find partners for production and distribution of their projects, and take part in the presentation of new film and series projects dedicated to young audiences. This year, the industry part of the festival will take place from September 29 to October 1.
The Young Horizons IFF is the continuation of the Kids Kino IFF that took place continuously since 2014.
