The most interesting animations, live action films, and documentaries from all over the world, as well as inspiring meetings with filmmakers and young actors that broaden the horizons of conversations about movies, creative workshops, and most of all – a ton of good fun for the young audiences. That is what the Young Horizons IFF is all about. This year, its 11th edition will take place in 20 cities all over Poland (with main locations being in Warsaw and Wrocław) from September 28th to October 6th. Right after the on site version of the festival ends, we’ll invite our audiences to the online edition of the festival, in which selected titles will be available on our VOD platform from October 10th to 27th.

We welcome all audiences on our cinematic adventure – from the youngest viewers (ages 3 and up) together with their accompanying adults, to teenagers. Traditionally, the program will consist of around a dozen sections – those that appear each year but also a couple of new ones. Amongst them you’ll find a section dedicated to the teenage audience with titles in the 16+ age category.

As part of the Main Competition, the most interesting international productions will be judged by both the jury panels and the festival audience. The jurors will also give their opinions on the Discoveries’ Competition and the Documentary Competition. The winners will be revealed during the closing ceremony that will take place in Warsaw on October 5th.

The festival will be accompanied by the international co-production forum Young Horizons Industry, as it’s been the case continuously for 8 years. Traditionally, over 300 representatives from the film industry will visit Warsaw to share their knowledge, find production and distribution partners, and to take part in the presentation of the new film and series projects dedicated to the young audience. The industry part of the festival will take place from September 30th to October 2nd.
