Would you believe that a piece of translucent foil revolutionized the world of animated films? It was celluloid foil which moved Snow White and Lion King and in Poland - Bolek & Lolek and Reksio.
In MediaLab you’ll learn about the animation method popularized and used for decades by the Walt DIsney Studios. This method uses illustrations painted on sheets of celluloid foil, put in front of painted backgrounds. Thousands of pictures created this way were registered using a stop motion camera. Frame by frame, patiently and with focus these animations were created. WIthout the use of new technologies - man-made art which till now are staples of animation. Go back in time and create a short movie scene using a technique that revolutionized this branch of cinematography.
