Cut-out animation

2024 / 10’

Drawing, cutting, moving and taking pictures. In this simple way we can describe the process of creating cut-out animation. The most important though is the animating which is making things move.

By animating we give life to what’s static and we make pieces of coloured paper become a character whose fluid moves we can watch on the screen. The character can dance, wave to the audience or sit in a split - this depends on you! Film is movement and in MediaLab every character’s movement is in your hands.
