Ernest & Celestine is a lovely film about friendship against all odds, about living against the grain, and about the power of love that overcomes the greatest obstacles.

The little mouse Celestine loves to draw, mostly bears, which she doesn't find scary at all, although she has been taught to be afraid of them since she was little. One day, she meets the big-hearted bear Ernest, who earns his food by playing the violin, and makes friends with him. Everybody around her is full of fear and disapproves of this friendship. Will the mouse and the bear be able to overcome the stereotypes and get out of the trouble they got into? An extraordinary Oscar-nominated animation inspired by Gabrielle Vincent's books has won the hearts of the youngest audiences from around the world.

In the eyes of the festival programmer…

EXCELLENT animation! From the first to the last shot, I felt warmth and affection in my heart. It's a simple story about an incredible friendship. I felt as if someone wrapped me up in a blanket, served me hot cocoa, and sat me by the fireplace.
