Talented and ambitious Ziba has just passed her final school exams with flying colours. As a result, she can now do what she has always wanted to do – become an astrophysicist. However, she can’t really celebrate the success carefree because of the secret that she’s hiding from her friends.
Ziba, a British girl of Iranian origin, can be proud of herself. Hours of poring over textbooks have been worth it – the door to University College London is wide open to her. Ziba should be celebrating the new stage in her life with her friends and Malcolm, a boy she met not so long ago. In theory, that’s exactly what happens – she visits her favourite falafel bar, unwinds by the lake, and watches the long-awaited meteor shower. But Ziba can’t really enjoy the moment or her promising future. The nagging vision of her unfulfilled dreams won’t leave for a second. The film featuring an atmospheric score and enchanting shots from London is a story about evanescent youth tinged with fear of what is to come.
