Sister of Mine – set

Emilia is trying to make a new life in Belgium, where she fled from the war in Ukraine. Zuzia is struggling with drug addiction. Will they find their place in the world and understanding among their family and friends?

Emilia and her family had to run from home because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She lives in Belgium now, trying to start over again. She’s learning Dutch and makes her first attempts at befriending new people. She goes on a climbing camp, where she needs to overcome her fears to be open to other people and new experiences. Zuzia is a smart and very sensitive teenager struggling with drug addiction. She feels misunderstood and undervalued by her parents. Facing the addiction problem, the girl confronts her family with the source of the conflict. She is accompanied by her brother – the film director, who follows her with a camera and creates an intimate portrait of a family in crisis.
