Sun is a timid girl who feels lonely. She is bullied by other kids at school and her parents struggle to make ends meet. Her life will change when she makes friends with a new girl in town during the summer break.

Sun comes from a low-income family and lives in a small flat with her parents and younger brother. She feels very lonely: other girls at school won’t play or hang out with her. Everything changes when Jia, a girl from a well-off family, is transferred to Sun’s school. The girls become friends during summer vacation. Their friendship will be tested when the new term begins and Sun is bullied by her peers again. Will Sun and Jia remain friends? This is a moving film about seeking acceptance and friendship. It has received numerous accolades at renowned international film festivals.
