Ponyo is a goldfish who lives in the sea. She meets Sōsuke, a five-year-old boy who saves her from danger and takes her home. Together, they will try to save the world and make Ponyo’s greatest wish of becoming human come true.
Brunhilde is not a regular goldfish – she is a daughter of a powerful wizard Fujimoto and she has magical powers herself. She’s curious about the life away from her underwater home so she escapes it. After an encounter with a fishing net, she ends up locked in a glass jar and stranded. On the beach, she is found by a five-year-old boy named Sōsuke, who lives with his mother Lisa in the coastal town. The boy rescues the fish, takes her home, and names her Ponyo. Their meeting is the beginning of a unique friendship and an exciting adventure. The protagonist will try to save the town from a tsunami and fulfil Ponyo’s dream of becoming human.
