The Netherlands 2021 / 75’
Polish and English subtitles

The sunny summer holidays roll on, but 14-year-old Shabu has actually messed something up! He gets into arguments with his grandmother, his mother, and his girlfriend. Will he get to make up for his mistakes before this hot summer ends?

The charismatic Shabu lives with his family in a lively community in Rotterdam. He hangs out with his girlfriend and best mate on a daily basis, with the dream of becoming a famous rapper being his greatest ambition. Even though Shabu looks a lot older than he actually is, he still doesn't always know how to behave. He has just crashed his grandmother's car, while she is on holiday in Suriname, their native country. Shabu takes on various casual jobs, very reluctantly though, to earn money for repairs. Over the summer, however, he will go through a real transformation, and thanks to the situation he finds himself in, he will see and understand the people who live around him.
