La fameuse invasion des ours en Sicile

dir. Lorenzo Mattotti
France, Italy 2019 / 82’

Bears set off from the mountains to the city to search for the missing son of their ruler. Humans are getting ready to fight the beasts they believe to be threatening. Can the two worlds be brought together?

A wandering tale teller and his little assistant meet an old bear in a cave. They tell him the story of his brothers' famous invasion of Sicily. The story goes like this: a pack of bears, led by their king, sets out to find his son who has been abducted by humans. Following this news, the ruler of the town the animals are heading for is preparing for a great battle. Between the two sides of the conflict stands a wizard with only two spells left to be used. Will they manage to find the lost cub and reunite the worlds of humans and animals? Will the animals prove to be more noble than humans?

The film is based on a book by an Italian author Dino Buzzati.
