“Into the Wonderwoods” to open the 11th IFF Young Horizons. Polish premiere of the film by co-creator of "Persepolis".
After the world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and the prestigious nomination at the Annecy Festival, it is time for the IFF Young Horizons. Into the Wonderwoods will be part of the Main Competition and will open the 11th edition of the festival on September 28th in the Warsaw based Kino Muranów.
It will be the first time that the Polish audiences will have the opportunity to see this impressive animation. Alexis Ducord and the co-director of Persepolis, Vincent Paronnaud join forces in this beautifully made and humorous production. Into the Wonderwoods follows the steps of a young boy named Angelo as he searches for a way to his sick grandma’s house. He will venture through a magical forest, past wonderous lands, and into the belly of the beast, as he faces off against strange creatures and mysterious machines on his adventure. The film, combining both 3D and 2D animation, is driven by a frenetic pace and sustained by the richness of its worlds and creativity that cleverly uses humor, fairy tale archetypes, and contemporary issues. It is a perfect proposition for both young and adult audiences.
The 11th Young Horizons International Film Festival arrives this weekend!
This year’s festival is its second edition under the new name. Young Horizons IFF, previously known as Kids Kino, is addressed to audiences aged 3+ as well as adult viewers. The programme comprises 15 different thematic and genre sections, including live-action, animated, and documentary films. It is versatile and adapted to the youngest kids. It includes a number of sequels and festival hits addressed to schoolchildren, too. This year, we have placed even more emphasis on films for teenagers. The wide selection of titles, along with our new branding, is meant to show that we offer a lot of space for adolescent viewers who are seeking their own ways in life, also in terms of cinema.
The Young Horizons International Film Festival is an annual event addressed to the youngest and adolescent viewers. The 11th edition of the Festival will take place from September 28th to October 6th in 20 Polish cities. On October 10-27th, the programme will also be available online at our website.
The festival will be accompanied by Young Horizons Industry – an international co-production forum for film and series projects targeting young audiences. The industry forum will be held from September 30th to October 2nd in Warsaw and online. More information regarding the event here.
