It’s next week! The 12th TAURON Young Horizons IFF is coming to Warsaw, Wrocław, and other Polish cities

More than 170 films in 16 thematic sections, screened at cinemas and online. 26 September is the day when the 12th TAURON Young Horizons IFF kicks off – Poland’s largest film festival addressing young audiences.
Until 5 October, Warsaw, Wrocław, and 18 other Polish towns and cities will serve as meeting hubs for film lovers and film creators. On 9–26 October, you can also take part in the festival online.
A programme filled with new releases and film discoveries
The festival will open with Arco – the winning film at Annecy this year is now on the French shortlist for the 2026 Oscars. This colourful animation for all audiences talks about children’s agency, wisdom, and imagination. The festival programme is made up of 174 titles: from the cinematic gems awarded at Berlinale, Cannes, and Sundance, to the latest productions from Polish filmmakers, to the ultimate film classics.
Some of the films that will compete for awards in the Main Competition, Documentary Competition, and Discoveries Competition are Pixie. The New Beginning, Maya, Give Me a Title, and King Matt the First. Visit the Kingdom of Anime to see the most interesting productions from Japan: new releases as well as iconic films from Studio Ghibli. In the New Horizons section, the adult companions of young viewers will get to see arthouse films exploring the theme of family dynamics. These screenings will be accompanied by discussions co-organised with Newsweek Psychologia Dziecka and Newsweek Psychologia Nastolatka. With Timeless Film Festival Warsaw, our audience will go back to some classic titles (or watch them for the first time), such as: E.T., Edward Scissorhands, and Stand By Me.

Polish films on the big screen
The programme features 12 Polish films, including the sequels to the viewers’ favourites: Kitty Kotty Has a Baby Brother, Lampo. The Travelling Dog 2, The Amazing Adventures of Lost Socks 2, and The Boy at the Edge of the World. Some of the Polish films from the festival programme will compete for the Young Horizons Main Award (PLN 30,000) and the ZAiKS Award (PLN 15,000).
Bringing the festival closer to you
Traditionally, the festival programme is supplemented with a number of workshops, meetings, and creative activities for families. Today, we have opened the MediaLab – our interactive technology centre. You can visit it at Zachęta National Art Gallery in Warsaw until 5 October. This is a space for young viewers, where they can try their hand at a variety of film experiments, including the green screen, VR, stop motion, and sound effects.
