Against her parents' wishes, brave Ronia makes friends with Birk, a boy living next door. Will the special bond between the children prove able to end the eternal feud between their families?
Ronia and Birk were born on the same stormy night. She is the daughter of Matt, the leader of a rogue band. Birk, on the other hand, is the son of Bork – Matt's greatest opponent. Years pass, and Ronja and Birk become best friends after they’ve helped each other out and even saved each other's lives. They grow to be like brother and sister. Ronia's father finds out about everything. The robber won't hear about his daughter's friendship with the son of his worst enemy. Ronia and Birk flee the house and decide to live in the Bear's Lair. But will they be able to reconcile the robber bands?
