Christmas with Astrid Lindgren – set

5–8

Snow has covered everything around – Christmas is coming! But Gunilla and Gunnar lie sick in beds. They feel miserable but this unfortunate time will be made better by four Christmas stories based on Astrid Lindgren’s writing.

It couldn’t possibly get worse! Gunilla and Gunnar got ill right before Christmas. All the other kids are playing outside and they have to stay in their beds. To make things better, they receive a lovely gift from their parents – an unusual cuckoo clock. The cuckoo doesn’t sing but tells the most beautiful Christmas stories. Gunilla and Gunnar will listen to tales of friendship, joy, and mutual support, created by Astrid Lindgren, the famous Swedish author of children’s books. The cuckoo talks about the playful Emil, who sets up a snowball fight during a boring party organised by his parents; about Bertil, who befriends a tiny boy living in a mouse hole under his bed; about a fox who is taken care of by a house elf; and about brave Brenda, who organises Christmas on her own when her grandma falls ill.
