Did you know...
director Steven Spielberg invented of E.T. as a child, looking for a friend after his parents' divorce? The alien's face was created from a combination of the likenesses of Albert Einstein, Ernest Hemingway, and Carl Sandburg.
A friendship like this is one in a million.! E.T., a visitor from outer space who is stranded on Earth, meets ten-year-old Elliott. Will the boy help him find his way home?
Elliott feels a little lonely. He doesn't have many friends at school, and following his parents' divorce, his dad moved to another country. Unexpectedly, he befriends E.T. – an alien who didn't make it back to his planet. Their different communication styles do not stop them from forming an extraordinary bond. Elliot teaches his new friend about life on Earth, and E.T. shows him how he revives wilted plants and moves objects with the power of his mind. Together, they attempt to use these skills to safely send E.T. back home. This four-time Oscar-winning science fiction classic is filled with cinematic magic and otherworldly adventures.
