Did you know...
the film is based on the book "Pferd, Pferd, Tiger, Tiger?" ["Horse, Horse, Tiger, Tiger"]? Its author, Mette Eike Neerlin, co-wrote the screenplay for "Honey" with the film's director, Natasha Arthy.
Band rehearsals, caring for her sister with Down syndrome, and a boy she can't stop thinking about – Honey's schedule is already packed, and now the teenager has to make time for her previously absent grandfather.
Music, especially playing the ukulele, has always been close to Honey's heart. When she joins a new class, she instantly wants to join a rock band, in which her older crush performs. She also believes that her grandfather, whom she learns about while creating a family tree, shares her love of music. However, there is a fly in the ointment. The teenager's mother does not want to talk about her father, Honey's sister needs care, and rehearsals for her first serious gig don't always go as planned. With her grandfather's support, Honey learns that despite such challenges, it is truly worthwhile to pursue one's dreams.
