Jacob and Mimmi are cousins who are not very fond of each other. However, a chance to change this soon comes along. The kids make friends with a gang of talking dogs.

Jacob lives in the centre of Riga. He is engrossed with drawing in his daily life. He's fascinated by urban space planning, as he wants to be an architect in the future, just like his dad. One day, his dad tells him that he is going to have to spend a week with his cousin Mimmi and Uncle Eagle on the outskirts of the city, in Maskachka. But the boy doesn't like the idea. He is stepping into a different, unfamiliar world. Jacob feels lonely because he doesn't really get along with his cousin Mimmi. The picture changes when he meets the neighbourhood dogs, headed by Boss. Together with Mimmi and the friendly dogs, who can talk in a human voice, they fight to stop the construction of office buildings in the area. Acting jointly for the sake of the environment brings them together and makes the time Jacob spends with his family something to remember forever.
