Did you know...
the film's screenplay was inspired by the true story of Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, an organisation that has been rescuing kangaroos in Central Australia since 2005 and helping them return to nature?
Inspired by a true story, this moving adventure follows a former TV presenter and a young girl named Lilly, who unexpectedly join forces to rescue and rehabilitate a group of orphaned kangaroos in the Australian outback.
Lilly is a bright, nature-loving eleven-year-old living in Australia who, thanks to her father's passion, becomes fascinated by the life of the local kangaroos. One day, she meets Chris, a TV weather analyst who is going through the most unfortunate time of his life. The man finds a kangaroo in need of help by the roadside and, together with his new acquaintance Lilly, they decide to save the animal. Together, they begin efforts to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned kangaroos in a remote stretch of Australia. This undertaking will change their lives in more ways they ever could have imagined.
