Did you know...

Belugas, like dolphins, are able to swim backwards and move their heads in different directions. This extraordinary ability is due to the fact that their cervical vertebrae are not fused together
Kadr -Katak, the Brave Beluga Play

Katak really wants to grow up, but he still looks younger than his peers. To makes matters worse, hardly anyone believe that he is actually independent. An extraordinary underwater journey will turn his life around: the time has come to conquer the great North!

Katak is a beluga whale, a species named for its distinctive white-coloured bodies. However, belugas are not born this way; their skin gradually lightens with age. Unlike the others, Katak’s skin remains stubbornly grey, compelling him to find another way to prove to his entire pod that he is no longer a child. When his grandmother wistfully recounts stories of his grandfather living across the ocean, Katak resolves to take matters into his own fins. On his quest to find his ancestor, he joins forces with a persistent yet charmingly humorous sturgeon, discovers the rewards of his diving practice, and ultimately learns the true meaning of family. In the end, Katak finds his rightful place among his loved ones, feeling perfectly at home – just like a fish in water.
