The arrival of a cool new girl in the class turns twelve-year-old Mira’s world upside down. Her friendship with Naja and Louis is put to the test, and all the girls suddenly seem interested only in talking about love.

Until now, Mira had spent every spare moment with Naja and Louis, doing art projects and playing together. Everything changes, however, when Beate, an Instagram star, joins their class. Enchanted by the new classmate, Naja joins her club for the lovestruck, and soon forgets about Mira. Feeling lonely, Mira decides to join the exclusive club too. But how can she fulfil the only condition for joining, being in love, when her heart simply will not beat faster on command?

Mira is an adaptation of the bestselling comic series by Sabine Lemire, with illustrations by Rasmus Bregnhøi. The film reminds us that everyone grows up at their own pace, and that the most important thing is to listen to your own heart.

The film is recommended by Empowering Children Foundation.

Did you know that…
… there is a reason why, in the final scene set on New Year’s Eve, the characters jump from their chairs? This is how Danes traditionally welcome the New Year!
