Did you know...
the Palace of Versailles, alongside the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum in Paris, is the most important and most visited tourist attraction in France. For hundreds of years, it was the seat of French kings and queens, including Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette.
Eight-year-old Violette loses both her parents and is taken in by her uncle, the curator of the famous Palace of Versailles. She moves in with him, right next to the 17th-century building. How will the girl cope with this new reality?
Eight-year-old Violette has lost both her parents and moves in with uncle Régis, her late mother's brother. Régis works at Versailles, where he is responsible for maintaining order in the huge and impressive royal palace. At first, Violette does not like Régis – he is bulky, snores loudly, and stinks of cleaning products. With time, however, the two begin to form a connection. Slowly, they build a new life in the heart of Versailles – full of new friends, exciting moments, and even… some resident ghosts. My Life in Versailles is a touching animation about the power of forgiveness and family.
The screening will be accompanied by a short film, Clean Slate (dir. Bastian Eipert, 15')
