A Family

Their parents’ divorce and battle for custody turn Nina and Eli into pawns in the adults’ emotional games. How will the siblings cope with their new family reality, in which their needs are pushed into the background?

The film explores the consequences of a family breakdown from two different perspectives: those of sixteen-year-old Nina and fourteen-year-old Eli. Reluctant to engage with others, Nina longs to escape the toxic atmosphere at home and find refuge in a relationship with a girl whose family seems almost perfect. Eli, meanwhile, dreams of returning to the structured life he once knew, in which he felt safe.

Although they experience the same events differently, they gradually realise that they are carrying the same burden: the result of their parents’ manipulation and arguments. Ultimately, both simply long for love, attention, and emotional stability.
