10-year-old Romy ends up under the care of her hairdresser granny. A special bond develops between them. Before long, money disappears from the till and the old woman starts acting weird.

While her mum is working, Romy – a smart 10-year-old – spends a lot of time in the hair salon of her rather unapproachable and strict grandma Stine. Romy learns the story of her life and their bond develops. The two of them come up with many crazy ideas! One day, money from the salon's till disappears and the old woman starts behaving strangely. Soon, Stine will experience big life changes – her memory will begin to fail – and brave Romy will do her best to support her grandma. She will even make a daring plan to take Stine on a trip to her hometown. Romy's Salon is a heartwarming story about the connection between the oldest and youngest generations.

In the eyes of the festival programmer…

This film is completely unique, as it tells the story of a relationship between a granddaughter, a grandmother, and the Alzheimer's disease. It's a tender cross-generational story about taking care of each other in different ways, as well as a rarely portrayed account of children taking care of adults.
