Did you know...
before 1927, when the first feature-length film with synchronized sound was released, live music was performed at cinema screenings? The silent cinema pianist and organ players were known as “tapeurs”.
Although they were created over a century ago, both films are still entertaining today. It's time for an adventure in a chaotic bakery and a crazy chase with the most outstanding actors of silent cinema!
The protagonists of these comedies have no reason to be bored! Charlie Chaplin's waiter is put to work in a restaurant's bakery. As he tries to learn new recipes and skills, the vengeful former employees, who have gone on strike, plan to conceal a stick of dynamite in one of the loaves. Meanwhile, Buster Keaton's farmhand is trying to win the love of a girl. The task won't be easy – he has to compete with the other farmhand and fend off the attacks of a rabid dog. These cult films – though they lack colours and dialogue – are full of moments that remind us how funny and twisted everyday life can be.
