the film about Todd and Stella, directed by their mother, won the 2025 European Children's Film Association award for best European documentary film for children?
Having siblings is not easy! Six-year-old Stella is tired of being the youngest, and her eight-year-old brother Todd sometimes wishes he was an only child. Their relationship is full of intense emotions. How do the siblings deal with them on a daily basis?
Todd sometimes gets fed up with Stella. He is annoyed that his little sister always has to have her way, doesn't want to share anything, cries a lot, and always wants to do what he does. Todd is about to go to school, but Stella is too young to understand his fear of the new and unknown. The girl is tired of Todd always knowing everything best and constantly trying to compete with her. Stella's sensitivity and wild imagination mean that Todd cannot always understand what she is going through. Despite these difficulties, Todd and Stella are very close. The camera follows the siblings over a period of five years, observing how they grow up and how their relationship develops. The film is a touching portrait of the many shades of the sibling's relationship – from love to quarrels.
