Joanna Zdrada recorded a theatre performance based on Marta Guśniowska's play Your Goose is Cooked! produced as part of the Documentary and Feature Film Studio's project, Young Man's Theatre.
A cunning Fox sneaks into the hen house at night to hunt one of the sleeping hens, but his plans are thwarted by the inconspicuous Goose, who tells the Fox that, having lost the meaning of life, she would gladly join him for dinner as... a dish.
The Fox has no desire to consume the emaciated, nostalgic, poetry-writing Goose. He suggests that he take her to his friend the Wolf, who will undoubtedly be happy to eat her. As they journey through the forest, they meet other animals who attempt to dissuade the Goose from her plan, pointing out what is most important to them in life. However, the Goose does not care for their life goals – she wants to find her own meaning. Is our own model of life, which perhaps differs from traditional patterns, necessarily worse? And at any rate, does life have to have just one meaning? Marta Guśniowska's text Your Goose is Cooked! won first prize in the 2014 Theatre Play for Children and Youth Competition, organised by the Children's Art Centre in Poznań.
