DJ Ahmet

Fifteen-year-old Ahmet spends his days herding sheep and looking after his younger brother, but deep down he dreams of becoming a DJ. He crosses paths with Aya, another teenager who longs for a different life.

In the Macedonian village of Yuruk, tradition still prevails over modernity. Young people tend to start families early and work on the farm. Ahmet, a bright boy who lives with his father and younger brother, would probably face a similar future, but he secretly dreams of a career as a DJ. He loves rave music and equips his tractor with a sound system. His fascination meets with disapproval from his father, but Ahmet soon finds common ground with Aya, a dancer in a local band whose parents want to marry her off at a young age. Music gives the two teenagers the strength to fight for their dreams and rebel against all kinds of expectations.
