When sixteen-year-old Juno finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, her teenage life gives way to adult dilemmas. The most important of these concerns her baby’s future. How will she cope with challenges for which she is completely unprepared?

As the pregnancy tests repeatedly come back positive, Juno has to face her new reality. At first, she has no idea what to do, but eventually decides to put the baby up for adoption. With the support of her best friend, she finds a newspaper advertisement placed by a wealthy married couple, Vanessa and Mark. They appear to be perfect adoptive parents, but beneath the façade of perfection are cracks Juno does not expect.

Juno is a moving yet funny story about the unexpected transition from childhood to adulthood, as well as the power of unconditional love and acceptance from those closest to us, which can make even the most difficult moments feel less overwhelming.

Did you know that…

…screenwriter Diablo Cody drew inspiration for Juno’s story from the experiences of a friend who became pregnant as a teenager, as well as from her own life? Cody dated a Tic Tac fan similar to Paulie, was friends with a cheerleader reminiscent of Leah, and, like Juno, had a phone shaped like a hamburger.
