13th TAURON Young Horizons IFF: the festival of cinema for young viewers and families is just around the corner
The 13th TAURON Young Horizons International Film Festival will soon welcome young cinema-goers once again. In 2026, the festival will take place from 25 September to 4 October. The programme will be filled with more than 170 films and series, numerous activities for families, and cinema screenings across Poland. You will get a chance to make some amazing film discoveries, watch the latest releases, and meet your favourite characters again. The early bird passes will be available starting tomorrow.
This year’s TAURON Young Horizons IFF comes with new visuals. Together, the three posters form a story about various stages of cinema exploration: the first experiences with films, the growth of natural curiosity in children, and the perspective of teenagers. This year’s graphic design shows that the festival has evolved along with the audiences. Everyone is invited to dive deep into the world of film emotions, regardless of their age.
A line-up packed with treasures and a shared cinematic experience
Just like in previous editions, Warsaw and Wrocław will be the main festival cities this year. Even more Polish cinemas will take part in the festival this time, screening selected titles. What is more, from 8 to 25 October, part of the programme will be available to watch online at festiwal.mlodehoryzonty.pl.
When preparing the festival each year, our goal is to make it as versatile as possible, and to offer something interesting to multiple target groups, says Kamila Tomkiel-Skowrońska, Director of Young Horizons. This year, the programme will include films addressing both the youngest explorers of cinema and older viewers who are looking for stories that reflect their experience and open new perspectives. Among over 170 titles, there are, of course, live-action, documentary, and animated productions, including this year’s premieres from Cannes, Annecy, and Berlin, which Polish audiences will be able to see for the first time, Kamila emphasises.

Competitions, premieres, and new sections
A key part of the programme of the 13th TAURON Young Horizons IFF is the competition section. The Main Competition will present the most interesting international productions, most of which have not been distributed theatrically in Poland yet. The best film of the festival will be selected not only by the jury but also by the audience in Warsaw. The jury members will vote for the best film in the Documentary Competition and Discoveries Competition. For the third time now, in the latter competition, the Young Jury will give their vote as well.
The programme will be filled with sections that our audiences have already come to know very well, but there will also be plenty of new additions. This year, you will get to enjoy the widely popular anime section; watch Timeless Stories, a section prepared in collaboration with Timeless Film Festival Warsaw; and revisit your favourite Coming of Age classics. Apart from these, there will be a section presenting productions from the Cartoon Saloon animation studio and the Let’s Dance! section. The festival screenings will be accompanied by additional activities for families: meetings with filmmakers and actors, debates, and creative workshops.
