For generations, trolls have lived hidden underground, convinced that the world above is full of danger. However, the curious Curly Burly decides to find out how much truth there is in this story.

Once upon a time, trolls lived among humans, playing pranks on them and making sure the world was never short of laughter. But after a mysterious event, everything changed: the trolls moved into caves on the island of Bornholm, and ever since then they have followed one fundamental rule - never go above ground. Young Curly Burly, however, has always wondered what lies beyond the safety of his home. When he and his sister finally break the rule, their innocent expedition quickly turns into a magical adventure in which the siblings discover not only an unknown world, but also courage, responsibility, and the strength of family bonds.

Did you know that…
… Curly Burly was not created specifically for the film? The character comes from Danish stories about the trolls of Bornholm, where he has been one of the island’s best-known children’s characters since 1946.
