Finishing secondary school marks the symbolic beginning of adulthood – a magical transition from childhood into the great unknown. A group of teenagers decide to spend a year in the far north of Norway, hoping to discover their true selves, passions, and confidence amid the tranquillity of nature.
In a world of constant noise and ubiquitous screens, it is becoming increasingly difficult to hear our own thoughts. Pressure, fear of the future, and a sense of being lost are part of everyday life for many young people. Help comes in the form of Pasvik Folk High School, a traditional folk high school that has been helping teenagers prepare for adulthood for many years. Far from technology and the comforts of everyday life, they learn to trust their intuition, develop survival skills, and pay attention to what truly matters. Surrounded by rugged nature and accompanied by a loyal pack of huskies – dogs that Norwegians say can unlock people’s true selves – they finally have time to embark on a journey of self-discovery.
Will a year spent at the edge of the world help them find answers to the questions they have so far been afraid to confront?
