Ren, a teenager from Chicago, arrives in a small town where dancing is strictly forbidden. In a world filled with rules and restrictions, his need for freedom quickly turns into a rebellion that will be difficult to stop.

A film that quickly became a symbol of the wild 1980s, full of music, dancing, and youthful energy. Confused and overwhelmed by his new reality, Ren McCormack tries to find his feet after moving to Bomont. True to form, however, he comes into conflict with the locals. The situation becomes even more complicated when Ariel, the daughter of the pastor responsible for enforcing the ban on dancing, catches his eye. Ren, supported by his new friends, decides to fight to have the ban lifted and to secure the right to self-expression, standing up to prejudice and strict social norms. Is he fighting a losing battle?
