Where the Wild Things Are

Thanks to his unbridled imagination, nine-year-old Max finds himself in an extraordinary land inhabited by strange, furry creatures.

Max has never been the sort of child whose decisions are dictated by common sense. Misunderstood by his family and feeling lonely, he runs away from home after an argument with his mother, without looking back. He accidentally finds himself in a magical land inhabited by fantastical creatures who, strangely enough, regard him as their leader.

This film adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic book tells a remarkably honest story about anger, loneliness, and the need to be loved. It is a moving tale of the powerful emotions that emerge in childhood, and of how you cannot always escape reality.
