When Helge becomes a bank manager, his greatest ambition is fulfilled. He does not enjoy his new position for long, however, as he is accused of stealing money from the bank vault. With the unexpected help of his friend Dante the Rat, will Helge manage to prove his innocence before it is too late?

For Helge Olsson, life as a bank manager is a dream come true: right from the very beginning, he receives a briefcase with gold fittings and finally has friends – the other managers. This happiness bursts like a soap bubble, however, when the entire contents of the bank vault disappear and all the evidence points to Helge. Fleeing arrest, he takes refuge at a rubbish tip, where he meets Dante the Rat. It would be difficult to imagine two more different personalities: Helge is a serious, naïve banker, while Dante is a clever survival expert. Despite their differences, the unlikely housemates become friends and, together with Ella, Helge’s young neighbour, launch an investigation to find the real culprit.

Dante is a beautiful story about friendship that transcends divisions. It shows that pursuing our goals at any cost is not always worthwhile, and that the people and animals close to us are far more valuable than a briefcase with gold fittings.
