Emily, an elderly lady struggling with dementia, finds her memory drifting back to the past. Will she manage to connect her scattered memories to the present and remember who the woman bringing her tea and biscuits is?
Emily has trouble remembering things. When a piece of biscuit drops into her cup of tea, she begins to drift between distant scenes from her past. She returns to the carefree days of her childhood: time spent on the beach and bike rides with a friend, and later the rush of first love and precious moments shared with her beloved daughter Kate.
Late Afternoon is a moving, Oscar-nominated animated film about the importance of memory to our identity and how, sometimes, we need to look back deep into the past to fully understand who we really are.
The film is presented alongside Song of the Sea.
