Twelve-year-old Sofija was meant to spend the summer at camp with friends, but instead, her grandmother takes her to Croatia, where her long-lost sister lives. Will their holiday turn out well?

Sofija’s plans for the coming weeks include: a first kiss, new friends, and creating memories for years to come. Initially, her stay on the island of Hvar promises anything but an adventure. Her grandmother keeps pushing sandwiches at her, covering her in sunscreen, and embarrassing her in front of others. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi hardly works. Still, the holiday will turn out to be quite memorable. When she discovers the existence of a cousin she has never met and family secrets come to light, Sofija will learn just how important it is to truly get to know your loved ones. This is a humorous, intergenerational story bathed in Croatian sunshine.
