When eleven-year-old Lydia’s older brother is kidnapped by a mysterious sorcerer, she sets off across the Misty Sea to rescue him. With the help of the crew of a flying ship, she must discover and master her powers.

Lydia and her brother Thaddeus are growing up in a small village surrounded by the mysterious and dangerous Misty Sea. Lydia dreams of practising magic, just like her mother, who disappeared years ago. Her brother’s abduction by an evil sorcerer forces Lydia to use powers over which she has no control. Fortunately, she finds herself aboard the Dolphin, an extraordinary flying ship travelling through the galaxy towards the Misty Sea. There, she meets Ambrosia, an astromancer who helps her discover her dormant powers and learn the secrets of astromagic. Will Lydia find the courage to face the powerful sorcerer and rescue her brother?
