As all readers of Margit Auer’s books know only too well, magical animals never appear by chance – they always find their way to the person who needs them most. That is exactly what happens to Miriam, who finds herself in an entirely new environment and must learn to find her feet.
Miriam, Ida’s childhood friend, joins Winterstein School. A new place, new friends, and unfamiliar rules make her feel insecure. Everything changes when she is given Fitzgerald, a magical tarsier and an extraordinary companion with whom she can talk as if he were her best friend. At the same time, dark clouds begin to gather over the school.
When the pupils learn that Winterstein’s future is at risk, they join forces to save it. For Miriam, however, this is only the beginning of her challenges. Her former class is also taking part in the school competition, and for the first time, she asks herself where she truly belongs.
Did you know that…
…tarsiers are among the world’s smallest primates? Their eyes are so large that each one weighs about as much as the animal’s entire brain! This helps them see well in the dark and spot insects very quickly.
