Fanta’s entire world revolves around balancing acrobatics, school, and looking after her sick mum. When a world-famous circus artist arrives in her town, the girl has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join his company and embark on a career that will change her life.

Fourteen-year-old Fanta goes to school and looks after her sick mum, devoting every spare moment to her passion – acrobatic training. One day, Balla Moussa Bangoura, one of the founders of the famous Amoukanama circus, arrives in her hometown of Conakry, the capital of Guinea. He is looking to choose just a few people to join him on tour. For the girl, this is a tremendous opportunity, but also a huge amount of pressure – her success could pay for her mum’s treatment and provide a better life for her family. Will Fanta be able to meet expectations and combine gruelling training with her daily responsibilities?

Did you know that…

… Amoukanama is a Belgian-Guinean circus troupe and acrobatics school founded in 2017 in Conakry, Guinea? It trains young acrobats and stages performances combining African dance and contemporary circus. In 2022, the group reached the semi-finals of the American version of ‘America’s Got Talent’.
