Skin Despair

A moving and intimate portrait of a thirteen-year-old girl struggling to reclaim her sense of self after experiences that took away her sense of security, robbed her of her innocence, and forced her into adulthood too soon. The film shows how social pressure, expectations regarding femininity, and experiences of violence can affect how she sees herself.
